West Brom vs Tottenham Hotspur Preview, Stats, Prediction & Betting Tips

West Brom v Spurs predictions and betting tips presented by football expert Tom Love.

West Brom vs Tottenham Stats

  • West Brom still haven't won in the Premier League
  • West Brom have had under 2,5 goals in their last 4 league games.
  • 5 of the last 6 league games between these two have featured under 3 goals
  • Spurs have won all of their away games this season in the Premier League

Super Sunday kicks off with what appears to be a relatively straightforward game for the Spurs as they head into the Hawthorns. Jose Mourinho has been a lot more adventurous on the road than he was last season and it's paying off with impressive wins at Burnley, Manchester United and Southampton.

So far, they have been juggling Europa League commitments and their strength in depth, which they lacked last season, has been a huge help in keeping things fresh. Now they are unbeaten in the league since losing on matchday one in a dreary game with Everton and Mourinho will take that as a 'getting the job done' frame of mind.

West Brom has been very poor this season, struggling in attack and struggling to keep the opponent at the slightest risk. Their goal difference expectation is already -10, by far the worst in the league, and rumors of discontent between Slaven Bilic and the board will not help matters.

Tip 1: Tottenham Hotspur win and under 4,5 goals

It's hard to see the Baggies surviving this year and the Spurs have improved greatly on their travels this season with the deadly duo of Heung Min-Son and Harry Kane on fire, an away win looks likely. To add to the short price, I'm happy to lead Spurs to victory and under 4,5 goals on 17/20 as the hosts are expected to adopt a defensive formation.

I'll also have a Spurs play straight from Matt Doherty to be carded at a bulbous 13/2. The Irishman has already had two yellow cards this season and will face Grady Diangana, the eighth most missed player in the league.

Tip 2: Matt Doherty should be carded

Brighton's Tariq Lamptey, Southampton's Kyle Walker-Peters and Chelsea's Reece James are all running backs who have been cautioned against loafers this season. 13/02 seems too big to reject.

Tottenham Hotspur win and under 4,5 goals – 2 points at 17/20
Matt Doherty to be carded – 1pt @ 13/2
