Nigeria has produced several talented football players who have distinguished themselves for both the national team and their respective clubs. However, some managed to win more trophies for both club and country. Here are the seven most decorated Nigerian football players.

1. Nwankwo Kanu – 16 trophies

Nwankwo Kanu's trophy cabinet will be difficult for any Nigerian footballer to emulate. During his career he won 16 titles in all competitions, except individual awards. The African football legend is the most decorated Nigerian footballer of all time.

Papilo began his career as a striker and won his first title at the 17 FIFA U-1993 World Cup.

Kanu lucked into the senior national team and led Nigeria to Africa's first gold medal at the 1996 Olympics.

At club level, Kanu has won everything there is: three Dutch champions, a UEFA Champions League with Ajax and a UEFA Cup with Inter Milan, while his quest for trophies at Arsenal continued with the Premier League and FA Cup. .

2. Daniel Amokachi – 14 trophies

The Bull is one of the few Nigerian players to have won as many victories as Kanu. Amokachi won fifteen trophies in Türkiye, England and Belgium.

Daniel Amokachi won the FA Cup with Everton, also won the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria and the 1996 Olympic gold medal.

4. Finidi George – 10 trophies

Finidi made over 60 appearances for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, long enough to win the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations, a runners-up medal in 2002 and two third-place finishes in 1992 and 2002.

At club level, he won the Dutch Eredivisie three times and the UEFA Champions League once. Few Nigerian players can boast such a collection of trophies; in total he won ten titles.

Ahmed Musa was a child prodigy from the start and won the U20 African Youth Championship in 2011.

Since then, he has won a total of nine trophies, most of them in the Russian championship, where he played for CSKA Moscow.

Vincent Enyeama is undoubtedly one of the best goalkeepers in Africa. The commanding goalkeeper was one of the Super Eagles' strongholds. He played for several clubs and won several trophies, earning him a place as one of the most decorated Nigerian football players.

Vincent Enyeama's trophy collection includes two CAF Champions League trophies which he won with Enyimba while playing in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL). He has also won the Israeli League twice and the AFCON title in 2013.

7. Victor Ikpeba – 6 trophies

In 1997, Victor Ikpeba won the African Footballer of the Year award as a result of his impressive year at AS Monaco. The Prince of Monaco won the French Ligue 1 and the French Super Cup this year, but he also has many other trophies. Victor Ikpeba was part of the dream team that won the 1996 Olympics and the 1994 AFCON title. Early in his career he won the Belgian Cup with RC Liège in 1990.
