DISCLAIMER: ODDS AND ARTICLE UPDATED 11/03/2024, 14:39 PM.

Flat racing dominates on Wednesday, with four of the five meetings in Great Britain and Ireland at the same level.

The exception is Musselburgh (12,20-15,50) and the Scottish track starts with the pre-race jumps on the Flat in Nottingham (12,40-16,10) on the lawn, as well as the all-weather cards at Lingfield (12,30-16.00) and Dundalk (14.05-17.35) in the afternoon. Kempton (16,20-19,50) offers evening entertainment.

Wednesday's Horse Racing Forecast

We have three selections from those five cards, starting at Lingfield.

Lingfield 12.30 Gambling Tips

Desert Land up for grabs and every way – BET NOW

Luke Catton performs the trip to Desert Land for Jim Boyle's team here after a quick third place in a C&D trainee handicap six days ago.

The association had a full view of the field coming home on that run, watching the two forwards for the better part of the ten boat lengths, before breaking open and heading home with a wet sail for a scoring third.

Desert Land is still a lightweight all-weather race, and this is only its seventh outing. He was a 6f winner here in June with 2lbs less in qualifying and having raced at Bath most recently on grass he has shown he has the tools to excel in this race with that recent run here.

Catton claims his full allowance of 7 pounds in this contest, and with a nice tie for fifth, hopefully he can keep Desert Land closer to the pace, in which case a repeat of his last run to the line should suffice for victory.

Musselburgh 15.20 Betting Tips

The navigator to win and in every way – BET NOW

Both The Bees Knees and Dore De Janeiro are worth a look based on their respective handicap debuts. Fergal O'Brien's The Bees Knees scored at Newton Abbot in September and his previous third in a rookie event at that track is also in good shape. However, a drop in travel is not necessarily a good thing for the point-to-point winner.

Mare Dore De Janeiro gained a C&D mare on heavy terrain in February and has been out ever since. However, this form has been overcome and, with aptitude for demonstrating, is forgotten.

Navigator was most impressive winning a double at Sedgefield (2m1f, good) when he returned to the hurdles in late September/early October. A third run in a fortnight apparently surprised him at Carlisle afterwards, as he didn't jump quite as smoothly, but after a short break since, he can show he's still well ahead of that mark.

Embour to win and in every way – BET NOW

Embour performed decently under Richard Hannon, picking up three wins in 2018 and three more in 2019, while starting this year with a nearly 6f defeat at Wolverhampton in March on 95 points.

He then did well in some Class 2 turf events at Doncaster (5f, good) and Royal Ascot (6f, good) in June before leaving the Marlborough trainer to join Ruth Carr.

He came back from 124 days off with an enjoyable run at Wolverhampton 13 days ago where he beat the odds of 33/1 to finish fifth in a 5f contest. He was the last to arrive home and made a lot of ground in the final stretch, despite having to change rivals.

He was released £2 by the adviser for that race and, coming back on a trip in a C&D where he won in the past in his only previous race at this track, he should have solid claims of second place to his new driver.
