Formula 1 announced the holding of a GP in Brazil at Interlagos until 2025. The next race is scheduled for November 14, 2024 and will change its name to GP de São Paulo. In the newly released pre-calendar, the race at Interlagos was conditional and dependent on an agreement between the promoters and Liberty Media, which controls F1. The race on November 14, 2024 is already confirmed. The complete schedule has not yet been approved by the International Automobile Federation.

The contract signing announcement is the final chapter of a soap opera that lasted throughout 2024. São Paulo had a contract with F1 only until this year, and Rio de Janeiro took the leap to host the Brazilian GP from 2024 However, the lack of an environmental license for the construction of a racetrack in an area ceded by the army in the Deodoro neighborhood prevented the start of works, and F1 signed an agreement with São Paulo until 2025.
Interlagos underwent a series of renovations from 2013 to this year. The pit and control tower buildings were rebuilt and the paddock was expanded to better accommodate the teams and drivers. In 2024, the F1 race was not held in Brazil due to the coronavirus pandemic.
