The Dutch team has also had some shortcomings lately, but we shouldn't underestimate the experience this team has accumulated in big UCL games in recent years.

It was shocking to discover that there have been no previous meetings between Ajax and Liverpool, although both teams are consistent when it comes to playing on the European stage.

Ajax are doing well in the Dutch Eredivisie, if we ignore the surprising 1-0 loss to Groningen away from home. The most popular team in the Netherlands won every match.
Over the weekend they knocked Heerenveen down 5-1 at the Johan Cruijff Arena thanks to brilliant performances from Dusan Tadic and Mohammed Kudus. They scored three combined goals and had three combined assists, so it could be key for Liverpool here to stop these two players.
However, many names left Amsterdam over the summer. Hakim Ziyech moved to Chelsea, Donny van de Beek to Manchester United.
The aforementioned loss to Aston Villa and draw against Everton probably isn't the worst news for Liverpool fans. Virgil Van Dijk was injured in the Merseyside Derby and will be out for at least six months.
The Reds obviously have a decent replacement in Gomez, but the Dutch defender will certainly be missed. Sadio Mane has recovered from an illness and is back on top, scoring a fine goal against the Toffees.
Hopefully Liverpool will overcome their current woes and take the three points in Amsterdam. The home team has changed a lot and it will take a while to adjust.
